It's a simple snag to put it on your own journal, and a simple post to share it with others. I'm going to go put this in the community's profile.

Posting once more

Sorry for the lack of posting and comments; RL has kept me bogged down with many things to do. I did get a chance to snag some bags of candy and wrap a few up in tissue and ribbons to distribute around my offices. Even the people I'd only spoken to once received one, and there were a lot of smiles that day.

Christmas is only two days away, and so many other holidays are also being celebrated this month. Whatever religion you are, whatever your thoughts on it may be, seek out friends and family and tell them how much they mean to you.

Then, we'll only have a week until the New Year! Does anyone have any resolutions? What do you think this community should do resolution wise? Should we have a theme that everyone follows each week? Should we take pictures of something we've done/are going to do and post them?

Let me know. Let's start the New Year off with smiles all around.

This never fails to make me smile. And there's a community on LJ too!

Thought this would up-lift everyone's day. I can't find the original link, but I read a story in Reader's Digest about this high-powered lawyer, who left his career behind to open an animal shelter to make sure no more animals would be killed. His ultimate goal is to make a 100% no-kill nation. I thought it was along the same lines as trying to make the world a better place, one smile at a time.

So go check him out.

Its kind of inspiring to see what just one person can do.

(no subject)

Hello, all.

I found thiel's journal recently, and I must say it inspired me. A woman just moved next door to us. She's a single mother, with a young boy. I don't know her very well, but I thought maybe...

I found a lovely poem about hope on the internet. I printed it onto a sheet of purple paper, as my handwriting is totally illegible, and put it in her mailbox. Not much, I guess, but I hope it will bring some light into her day.

Slowly rising up

I'd like to slowly get this comm moving, and I'd like to start by issuing a challenge of sorts to everyone.

Smile at ten different people this week, and

tell others about this community, and

challenge them to do the same.

That's all it takes to start something beautiful and warm and wonderful inside of someone. So try it. Reach out and touch someone with a single smile or a warm welcome this week.

Post in and tell us about it. Encourage us with your happy news.

thiel is giving a flower to a single person every single day, and with it, bringing a blossom of peace and hope and understanding in this crazy world.

Well done.
